NORI
Wake Forest University

While pursuing internships in cities across the country this summer, we often found ourselves frantically in search of a quick way to remove wrinkles from our clothing before work. Cramped apartments and dorm rooms lacked the space needed for inefficient irons and clunky boards, while leaky steamers left water stains on our professional clothing. In an effort to quickly get out the door and look presentable for work, we often found ourselves instead turning to our hair straighteners to press our clothing. But a device designed for hair didn’t solve all of our problems.

Unlike hair straighteners, NORI is an elongated flat iron for clothing that allows users to press their clothes with the same ease as straightening their hair. The device features elongated plates to reach across the garment. In addition, NORI allows users to simply select a fabric specific heat setting to ensure the garment is being pressed safely and effectively. NORI is ideal for on-the-go users, allowing them to leave clothing on the hanger as they quickly press it. The antiquated ironing industry has long awaited this innovative technology.
