How are the teams chosen?

Each ACC school is responsible for selecting the undergraduate team which will represent their university at the competition. The individual schools may use internal competitions, incubators, accelerators, courses, etc., to choose their representative team.

How can I watch the competition?

Visit our website starting March 28, 2022, to view team videos and cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award. Watch the broadcasted competition where we will be announcing the People's Choice winner on April 2, 2022, at 7 p.m. EST through local PBS stations across the ACC and via our website.​​​​​​​

When will the competition be held?

For the second time since its inception in 2016, the preliminary competition will be held virtually in 2022. Visit our website starting March 28, 2022, to watch the pre-recorded pitches and cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award starting March 28, 2022. Watch the broadcasted competition where we will be announcing the 1st and 2nd place winners and People's Choice winners on April 2, 2022, at 7 p.m. EST through local PBS stations across the ACC or via our website.

Where will the final round of competition be held?

This year is the first year that we will be hosting this event 100% virtually.  You will be able to see the finalists pre-recorded pitches on our website on April 5-6 to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award.  You can watch the broadcasted competition where we will be announcing the finalists and 1st, 2nd and People's Choice winners on April 21, 2021, at 7 p.m. EST through local PBS stations across the ACC or via our website.

Who are the judges and what are their backgrounds?

The organizers of the ACC InVenture Prize choose the final round judges based on their expertise and background.  They are entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, business executives, innovators or have related experience.
